I finally got a Vectrex!

Earlier this week, drove to Kent to collect it, had won it on ebay. I have to say, it's a brilliant machine!

Not sure if anybody remembers them, they were quite rare and the release was badly timed.

Have to admit I didn't recall the name, sounds "a bit odd"
Info for anyone else that doesn't remember it

Competent

Had one when i was a kid and still have one tucked away somewhere. Great machines..hated changing the screen covers though, right pain in the arse.

Did you have many games for it? Well obviously there weren't many to start with, but any recommendations are welcome!

It is, I really wish I wasn't tightening my belt so tight, I'd buy a flash cart for it and print my own overlays so I wouldn't have to hunt down all the games. Maybe next month!

In the mean time I'm enjoying Minestorm and improving the vector rendering in MAME.

don't know if you've seen this..

no overlays tho Sad

iirc, there was also a multicart available with the whole catalogue of games plus some homebrew stuff,  probably not official, but worth looking for if you can find it cheaply..  tho from a collector pov, i know you'd rather have the overlay skins etc, but i think the multi cart in of itself would be quite good, just for the sake of having it..

I can have a go at making the overlays. But I suspect that will go for a lot more than a flash cart (which are about £56), and the flash cart has the ability to load multiple games on (like the multi-cart ones) which would mean all future homebrew (that is free anyway), and if I fancied trying my hand at writing my own I can do that too.

Ah yes.......but what does Mrs RJ have to say??!

I had to liberate my Amiga 1200 ('and assortment of choice games - boxed as new') from the loft at the direction of Mrs M.

Yet, we have wardrobes full of shoes.....funny that.
