Gaming and Consoles Forum - Anyone got both an Xbox 360 and a PS3? - Page 1

I used to have both, as a gaming machine the xbox is much better for me. I prefer the exclusive titles that were available on the xbox compared to the PS3 though more games now appear on both so this is less of an issue. The only game I really wanted on the xbox was god of war.

I actually thought the xbox controller was better as well, also where I had the same game on both i.e. fifa I preferred playing on the xbox I thought the graphics were a touch better and the controller mor precise.

As an all round machine the PS3 is miles better, I think PSN is better than live, note I am not a massive online gamer so did not pay for live. The PS3 is obv much better a media player with the blu ray and much quieter than the plane level noise that used to come from the xbox.

So all in all if I was just a gamer then I would be xboxing all the way with the blu ray and online (iplayer, inbuilt wifi etc) abilities of the PS3 it works better for me.

I had a 360 as main console for the above reasons, but then wanted a Blu Ray player a couple of years ago and for the price range the PS3 was one of the best about, plus anyone I knew playing online were on the PS3 so I bought one.

At the time I was between two flats so had the Xbox 360 at my flat for the weekends and then PS3 in Llandudno for during the weeks. As time went on though I was basically using the 360 purely for watching tv shows/films off my external hard drive. So in February this year I traded my 360 plus all the games and stuff in at Gamestation and managed to have enough to pretty much pay for the PS3 with my brother putting the difference towards it, as he never put anything towards the "first PS3" that he used all the time.

Don't think I'd bother with 360 again now, purely because I don't play online enough to justify paying an annual subscription, plus the main use of the PS3 for me is playing dvd's/blu rays anyway, with gaming being the second use.

Although it annoyed me last night as getting through Uncharted so that I can play the second one and it bloody crashed on me, I'm hoping it hasn't knackered the save as if it has Uncharted 1 is being sacrificed at that point

i prefere the 360's controller, but for everything else, the ps3 won hands down,  tbh, the only reason i kept the xbox for so long was Halo,  but the franchise has become a disapointment, & never grabbed me the same as halo 1...

But, thats just me,  in your position, i'd hold onto both,  you'll only get peanuts for the 360 (trust me ) & a M$ exclusive might just come along that you wanna play...
