Gaming and Consoles Forum - Does theh Xbox Elite come with an HDMI Cable? - Page 1

It used to come bundled with one but they removed it and passed the saving onto customers with the new lower price. They were paying something stupid like 20 for the bundled lead when customers could pick one up for a couple of quid in tesco. Apparently

I bought mine day of release and it did, i've just bought one from Argos last week for the boys Xmas, so i'll let you know about that one in about 8 and a half weeks.

I'd buy a cheapy HDMI incase yours is one of the newer batches mate.

Cheers, there was one for about a fiver in What hifi last month that got a five star review, it beat other cables at £40+, think it was called ThatCable will have to find where I put the magazine.

Probably get one of those for Bluray player and then use the BD bundled lead for the Xbox.

Found it, it is sold by a company called thatcable.com

And it is even cheaper at £4.79 for 1 metre, ideal for me, think I'll get 2 of them to see if there is any improvement, if there is I'll change the lot.

Initial 2 to go from Bluray to Amp and Amp on to TV.

Would need another 3 then, for DVD, Sky HD (When we get it) and Xbox to Amp

At the moment I have a couple of decent ones I got from Ebay, but no idea how good they actually are, if they are any better at all. The best looking & meatiest of the 2 are currently connecting the Bluray to the amp and the amp to the TV.

A link to WhatHifi's review, unfortunatly they do not have the comparison review online at the moment.

Just Composite cable now days isn't it?

Does it still come with the dongle for connecting the optical output as i might upgrade to the CoD6 Super Elite and will have to chore the dongle from my trade in Elite if need be?

Gerald, thanks for the two links, I needed to buy one new cable, the review link you posted convinced me to replace the 2 leads I was already using too.

X-Box turned up thursday & cables arrived saturday.

Very impressed with the look of the cables, not connected them up as yet but build quality very impressive, a lot better than a £25 HDMI I bought from local Hifi specialists, if there is a noticeable difference in picture/sound quality I may replace the lot.

Also we finally ordered Sky HD, it's being fitted this Saturday!

Set on on X-Box live username 'G Phunk 360' if your looking for friends, currently playing Forza 3 (our only game).

Please be gentle with me though, I've only been playing proper consoles for 2 days

is that right that you only get a composite lead in the box now thats what came with my core system, & i just assumed i got ripped off, as my previous 360's all came with a multi lead that could use either composite or component.... luckily enough, i had an old 360-vga cable that i used instead of crappy composite, boggles the mind that they make a console specificaly for hi-def, then only supply a composite cable in the box
