hi guys Happy

does anyone know if you can use "any" 360 psu with "any" 360, or do you need a specific psu for the different chipsets ?

Competent

Nor sure about the different chipsets but I have an "original" 360 core and last year I got my son a 360 arcade and his PSU won't plug into my 360 because it is a different shape Confused

If your question is about power distribution etc then I am afraid I have been no help whatsoever

They have changed the PSU's lately so that they take less power. I think there are about 3 different types in circulation.

i remember reading on xbox-scene that the old PSU's (203W) are forward
compatible with the newer 360's (175W and 150W) due to the 360 itself
only drawing the power that it needs.

it doesn't work the other way around though, for obvious reasons.

Chris, i couldn't find the article on xbox-scene, so a quick google found this:-

no doubt a bit more digging would come up with something a little bit
more scientific?

cheers, i'm only asking cos it looks like i can pick up a refurbed 360 for about 25 notes on fleabay, but thats just for the console, psu's seem to go for about 8 quid, i allready got a vga lead i can use, so then its just a second hand controller & a HD, & i'm business, (probably somewhere in the region of 60quid alltogether)

i know it seems like a long arse way around, but given my money situation, i'll take however i can get it lols,...

well, i quite desperatly need to cheer myself up, & find something to do today, so i went for a walk around farnworth, (my local town centre, which is deppresing in itself lol) & found myself mooching in crack converters, much to my surprise i saw an affordable 360 core system for £59.99 inc 6 months warrenty i beat them down a bit & walked away with the console, a wireless controller, memory card & call of duty 4 for a total of £70, kinda destroyed 3 months hard work getting my credit card back into the red, but f*ck it.....

i'm gonna look for a dirt cheap hard drive in a few weeks, then i'll see about getting my xbox live account re-started,

see you on there soon i hope...
