Playing Gamecube games on the Wii

OK - I've been away from games for a while (about 15 years....) but now I'm back!

I've got my Wii, I've got my Gamecube controller, and I'm just about to get some Gamecube games.

My question is - if I want to save my position in games like Rogue Leader, Metriod Prime, do I need to get a Gamecube memory card, or can it go onto the Wii internal memory?

Apologies if this is a stupid question...

Not sure but I think you can save onto a SD card on the Wii.

'Fraid not Jackal, you have to get a Gamecube memory card. What a bummer eh? I don't see why they couldn't have used the SD cards, but that's Nintendo for you.

I've got a Wii but I've decided not to bother picking up any GC games. I reckon if the new games aren't as good as the old ones then what was the point in buying a Wii? I can't see me wanting to go through Mario Sunshine or Wind Waker again when the new games look much better. That's just me though.

Yeah I just read that. You can however back the save files up onto the SD card and also download gamesaves from the PC to the SD card and then transfer to the Wii. If you wanted to that is. Winking

Thanks guys

Always useful friendly advice on this forum. I love it! Happy

I'm picking up a few cheap GC games to get 'up to speed' on the 21st centrury gaming world! Plus, at £30+ a throw, I won't be buying Wii too often!

Off onto eBay for a GC card then...
