Does any retailers still actually send out games a few days before the release date? I used to use Play all the time because they used to send them out a week before the release date, but don't really get that many games on release day and the last few I've had from Play have not arrived until a week after release date which is really annoying.
Pricewise I'm guessing I'm looking at £39.99 best price. I would just buy from a store but most games seem to be £49.99 brand new.

ordered my last few games off gameplay.com and they always (touch wood) arrive on the wednesday when the offficial release is the following friday. some people slate gameplay on forums but I have never had a problem with any of my orders from them

Right I've taken the plunge, I like a bit of a gamble. I'm holding you responsible if I don't get Pro Evo by next Friday though

Edit- Actually realised they don't take funds until its dispatched so I've gone to cancel. Jackal you have now assumed responsibility so it's your fault if I get it after release date

No problem mate. They didn't let me down. Ordered Dead Rising at 4.45pm and got it next day. Day before release too.

I've ordered mine too with shopto.net, but was a little concerned about their disclaimer that the preorder price could change without notice....taking the risk though

The general consensus seems to be that they dispatch on the monday before release day so fingers crossed 
To be honest though, I'm paying £34 instead of £41 on gameplay so I'm sound either way. Jackal is the man!
