Anyone getting/got a DS Lite?

I just got a Black DS Lite, and damn, I was surprised at how compact it was. The stylus is slighty better, and the screens are much clearer and vibrant, especially at highest brightness level. The black is just 8) although be prepared to wipe the fingerprints off the outer-casing Tongue Inside it's a matte finish, which is cool and just how it should be.

White DS Lite > Black DS Lite from what I've seen of the black one. Fingerprints, like you say are a big issue. Personally speaking, I imported mine from DVDCrave a couple of weeks back and don't regret it at all(the fact I didn't have a DS to start with helped...).

A great redesign and well worth the £100 you have to pay in UK stores.

New Super Mario Bros is a must-buy.

They're an issue with them both, although they show up more on black. It's a shame they made them shiny and glossy, instead of matte. The problem I have with the white, is that it's not actually white, but a sickly shade of something trying to be white. I'm not a fan of the i-pod colours. Plus, black is less of an eye magnet when you pull it out on the bus/train. And it's just cooler, you know it Winking

I'm keeping my old DS for now for multiplayer Mario Kart Grinning

Anyone fancy a game of Mario Kart or Tetris sometime?

Addictive isn't it? Happy I'm playing a lot of Polarium and Mario Kart at the moment.

The great thing about Mario Kart on the DS is that I think it's the best incarnation of Mario Kart... EVER! Playing it on the DS Lite screens is just bliss... especially multi-player Grinning

Yeah, Very Cool.

Very impressed with it, and how cool the cool factor is.

Only problem with it, is, I Just noticed the top screen has one dead pixel (red) Shows up very easily when the screen is all black. Only noticed it when I was messing around with the alarm clock. Now I kind of notice it all the time Sad

Got mine from HMV, wonder if they would swap it for another, but I guess I can expect a big fat NO!

Although apparently, if you believe that it you think it effects your gaming, and are not happy with it, Nintendo will replace it (checked on there site) but I think that is just for USA only.

Just need to get some more games...

Cheers

I think you should try to get it replaced if you're not happy with it. Even with one dead pixel. I think if you're polite to HMV they'll just swap it out, I would. Happy

My black Lite had two dead pixels, one on each screen. One was bright green, the other black, and they were always noticeable. Amazon just sent me a replacement which is perfect.

Fingers crossed for ya!

Thanks for the tip, but sadly HMV did not replace it Sad

After I told them about Nintendo’s site and them replacing or fixing the screen if the customer was not happy with the dead pixels. The Dude then said, "well, you have to phone Nintendo and get a customer reference number, then we can swap it, Just call Nintendo!"

So, best advice before buying a DS lite is, check it before you leave the store!

Will email or call Nintendo at some point next week.

Cheers
