Hi all,

Not that this is totally important, but this morning i recieved my spanky, (yet expensive) Monster Cable Component Video lead for my ,(chipped) X Box. All i can say is....Stunning...

Together with the 5.1 sound and now the absolutely awesome picture, (much better than the cacka Microsoft jobbie), my PS2 is sadly gathering dust. It could end up as an xmas pressie for someone else the rate the games are going. My DC gets more use!

Thanks for reading Happy

Westy

Hello Westy, I too bought the XBox Monster Component Cable as i wanted to get a Progressive Scan picture from my Toshiba 36ZT29 TV i have just bought.

I also have PS2, Gamecube, and DVD Component cables.....as soon as i seen Progressive Scan running on my GC with Starfox Adventures i was totally blown away and would,nt use any other connection now.

You could have saved yourself some money though....i also bough 3rd party component cables from Lik Sang for PS2 and XBox....only £4.99 each....i have compared the cheaper gold plated XBox Component Cable with the Monster Cable and i see no difference.....the picture quality looks the same using both cables.

My problem now is ....i have 4 Component Cables and only one Imput.....

You have'nt seen any Component Switch boxes on your travels....have you?

what TV are you xbox fruits using, and westy if your PS2 is gathering dust then you obviously dont like football seeing as PES2 has just been released, and if you dont like PES2 your just a weirdo in my bookTongue

And that book is available at all good (and some sh*t) retail stores this christmas, its called The Ironduke : B*stard of the DVD Reviewer forums priced 69.69.

I shall release more details of the this masterpiece closer to christmas.

you could do alot worse for your xmas stocking

Well Ulrika has done half of Britain, so I wouldn't be suprised if old Dukey has been there at some point!

The question is - did Sven score first, with sloppy seconds for the Iron Duke!!!???

If no-one minds returning to the original thread rather than this unsuprising console slagging then can I ask a couple of questions?

1) Why is component the best connection type?

2) If its really worth it - where can I get component cables for my PS2 and gamecube? I know my Toashiba TV can take it.

Cheers.

Westy - if you no longer want your PS2, i'll give you £50 for it. Waddaya reckon? Then you'll (nearly) be able to buy Dukey's book. Which, I have to say, sounds like an absolutely riveting read.

Let's hope he'll be doing book tours of the country to sign copies for us plebs. Winking
