28 Days Later-Awfull picture quality on Blu-Ray ?

got this on blu-ray last week, just gotten around to watching it on the ps3, but the picture quality is truly horendous,  anyone else have this & can check to see what it's like on your equiptment ?

Btw, i know the movie is very grainy & was filmed that way for effect, but this looks like an 1st generation cinema cam bootleg Confused  the only thing i can compare it to is the original R1 DVD release of highlander, where the encoding was terrible...

Pretty much the whole thing was shot in standard definition on digital video. It can't look any better than the DVD on BD, although the audio could technically be improved depending on the format.
