that's a plot I could have pulled out of my arse

Ah, but your arse didn't make the biggest grossing box office movie of all time. Unless your arse's name is Jim Cameron in which case it's a surprisingly talented arse and just think what a movie it would make if the rest of you came along for the ride. Grinning

It looks alright, just reminds me of an X box 360 game, considering James Cameron emphasised that he spent over a decade getting the technology for his vision up to his standards in various magazines and internet sites,

I can't say that it didn't blow me away like his other trailers such as Aliens, The Abyss, or Terminator 2.

Don't get me wrong, I think the film is going to be good, but I don’t think he should have over hyped the computer technology, because it does look like an X box game.

Well I saw the 15 minute 3D preview today at Cineworld. Very pretty, and looks a lot better than the teaser trailer. The teaser trailer isn't very good, it doesn't sell the film as anything special. The full theatrical trailer needs to pack some big impact.

It will be an experience. I'm not too hot on the fact that it looks like most of the film will be these mo-cap blue thundercats. They look great, very impressive, but still CGI. And although they're executed well, I'm not totally sold on the face structure or the less-than-subtle parallels with native North American Indians that permeate their voices, mannerisms and hair styles.

Given that people were raving about the Avatar script over a decade ago I'm going to assume there is something more to this than 'Dances with Wolves in Space AND 3D'. The consequences of having your consciousness transferred to another living body will be part of that 'something' I'm sure.

Terry Pratchett - 'Travelling' - the concept of transferring your conciousness into another living being for the purpose of investigation or exploration. Granny Weatherwax was a master at it, but she knew not to stay in the animal for too long, or the conciousness of the animal would start to overtake your own.

I KNEW I'd heard the concept somewhere else

and as for my arse, it's made quite enough spectacular productions of its own, thanks very much

If anyone is interested, most cinema chains have begun taking bookings already.

The Manchester IMAX was slowly filling up so I've got mine sorted... I was quite surprised that the Saturday 11am Premium seat tickets were only £9 each... which is cheaper than evening seats at my local, normal Odeon.

Can't wait! Grinning

Might be but it's a very slim chance as it's a James Cameron movie, unlike a Bay movie when you know it will be complete s***e.
