I saw this via Fark t'other day.and I'll say what I said there. Looks like pretentious twaddle.

The Life Aquatic Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Whilst watching this trailer, I was hoping it didn't turn out to be like The Life Aquatic, which I couldn't remember the name of whilst posting, nor did I realise it was the same writer/director. ![]()
The trailers for that intrigued me for ages as I do love Bill Murray, and when I finally watched it, I was mesmerised by how it lacked any emotion or humour. Until about 30 minutes in and then I stopped watching it completely. ![]()

I think the term "acquired taste" suits Wes Anderson more than any other director. The first time I saw The Royal Tenenbaums I found it to be too dark, not funny and annoyingly quirky. The second time I watched it I fell in love, suddenly realising where the warmth and humour was, and now it is one of my favourite films.

Maybe Tenenbaums is a good place to start, I'll look out for that one on TV or something.

I think Tenenbaums was where I started, and have seen all his films after that at the cinema and prior ones on DVD.
The Darjeeling Limited was great as well, and we really enjoyed Fantastic Mr Fox, loev his trademark cross sections he uses ![]()
