I remember when they built things like this to blow up, they'd be about 10ft across. For some reason that is too small these days. Shocked

I think they've always built big miniatures wherever possible - better details and a better sense of scale. Derek Meddings' miniature of the Liparus tanker for The Spy Who Loved Me was 65' stem to stern and ILM's Death Star trench was something similar. Weta call their big scenic miniatures "bigatures".
