Short one this.

Rollocking great adventure, actually an amalgamation of 3 of the books. Awesome visuals & incredible set pieces, However...

Tintin sticks out like a sore thumb. Of all the characters in the movie, he's the only one that actually doesn't look like a characature of a human being.

Frost and Pegg. There in name only. Offer nothing to the movie (sorry guys)

The action. Spielberg and jackson act like boys with a new toy and overdo it. Herge's illustrations of action scenes plotted action sequences perfectly, there was a lot going on, but as they were stationary images, you could study and track each facet. When Tintin & Haddock are barrelling down a morroccan hillside in a motorbike and sidecar, and ****'s blowing up all around them, and they're hurtling through buildings, destroying the bike, haddock's on a rope somewhere, meanwhile we're supposed to be following a falcon who's got hold of some important scraps of paper, it wasn't until the very last bit of the uncut scene that I spotted the tank moving towards them carrying the front facade of a building.

If you didn't follow that, neither did I.

Finally, I watched this in a cinema full of parents who'd taken their very young kids to see it. Every. single. child. was bored within 10 minutes. there are actions scenes, but I counted 4 that would hold the interest of a 5 year old. Each lasting no more than 4 minutes apiece, in a 2-hour movie.
This ISN'T a film to take a 5 year old child to. Not in the first 2 weeks anyway. Half the cinema audience was made up of people who wanted to watch the film, but couldn't during expositional scenes as the kids started talking over the movie.
