Every now and again, I'll go to the DVD collection thinking "I fancy watching Dark City.... oh bugger", then remembering I sold it at a boot fair some time previous, this got me to thinking, was I the only one making regrettable knee-jerk reactions to which films I'd never want to watch again...
Dark City
Karate Kid 1-3
Lethal weapon 1-4
Johnathan Creek boxsets
The 6th Day (it has its moments)
10 things I hate about you
American Werewolf in London
Christine
Armageddon/The Rock (Criterion editions)(kinda)
The Long Kiss Goodnight
The Negotiator (first DVD I ever purchased)
I'm going to stop now. I'm making myself depressed

My Collection
Never seen Christine or 6th Day and don't own Karate Kid 1-3 or Jonathon Creek, but the rest I own and enjoy all of them
On the plus side, Dark City, the Blu Ray is the director's cut, which makes a massive difference I believe.
In fact that's well up on my list to upgrade to Blu Ray (think there was a Region 1 dvd available aswell).
The main difference is that it removes the voiceover at the beginning, which gives far too much away. Think there's about 10mins of extra footage aswell.

I think The Long Kiss Goodnight was awful, nothing more than an excuse by a director to watch his wife kick ass.
Not got rid of any of my DVDs, but I have managed to lose my Nirvana Never Mind CD which is very annoying.
Also I still always regret selling my huge Scalectrix collection to buy a midi system when I was a teenager. ![]()

My Collection
Never happens with me. Once a DVD/ Blu-ray/ CD/ Book enters this house it never leaves...
However, I wish I'd hung on to my comics as a kid, my film magazines from the 1970s, my original 1966 Corgi Batmobile, my Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from the same era, my Captain Scarlet SPV and MSV...

Lord of the Rings extened box sets
Buffy complete collectors editions
Alsmost entire Disney collection
Terminator 2, Region 1 with the secret extended version
Transformers orginal animated movie
to name just a few
We went from approx 350 dvd's to less than 50, so far have not replaced any with BluRays,
I tell lies, Transformers (new version), bought on DVD, sold, bought on BluRay with a BD player and a new amp to replace faulty one when things picked up again!
One I keep meaning to get is Back to the Future, love those films.
All the best
Gerald.
