The missus and I just saw Scott Pilgrm Vs. the World, and enjoyed it loads.
Really funny, one of those films we're looking forward to seeing again, to catch the bits we missed as were laughing at previous line ![]()
Cool mix of Kill Bill, Kick Ass and Spaced!
Haven't read the books, but will add them to the ever expanding Amazon wishlist.
I think I slightly preferred Kick Ass, but the thing that I thought Scott Pilgrim did better than A Team, Expendables and Kick Ass was the timing and speed of the fights. It wasn't so fast you couldn't see what was going on, but it also wasn't cliche Matrix bullet time. I guess it helped that most punches and kicks were blocked or dodged.
I'm looking forward to watching Kick Ass again soon, and Scott Pilgrim when that comes out, if not in time for Christmas, hopefuly it will be perfect Valentine's Day gift for the missus ![]()
Out of interest did you both like the look of the trailer?
I'm not convinced on it from the trailer, but from the reviews and the Kill Bill/Kick Ass references for similarity I feel I should go see it.

yes, the trailer had the wife and I thinking "Can't wait to see that".
but then we both loved Kick Ass, Kill Bill, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Spaced.
Did you like Spaced? If not you may not liek it.

Hmmm. Loved Kick Ass and Kill Bill.
Quite liked Shaun of the Dead.
Didn't really laugh at all during Hot Fuzz (if at all? Don't remember any funny points).
Couldn't get into Spaced (think I've only seen first 2/3episodes).
Going to give Scott Pilgrim a blast tomorrow I think, but not convinced yet. May wait for dvd/blu ray to come out.

I loved the trailer, but I don't think the film is much like Kick-Ass. It has more in common with Edgar's other work. Spaced is a good one to mention, as it has a lot of the same random fantasy sequences. It does have a 17 (really 26) year old Chinese catholic school girl called Knives in it, which is a plus.

I've read book one and really liked it - I am fairly geeky though. The books are pretty film like so I can imagine it transfers well.
the trailer made it look really rather good so I am looking forward to seeing it.
well worth a watch
maybe
Just watched it, was alright but not really for me.
Strange as I liked all the graphics and was quite into at the beginning, but didn't particulary find it funny (well, don't think I laughed at any point) and got a bit bored after a while.
Was worth a watch, but don't think I'll watch it again ever.
