Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (Terrible film)

Jesus christ just watched this film and it's really bad.

Didn't fancy it at all from the trailers but it's had average to good reviews everywhere so thought it'd be worth a watch.

Basically it's a spoof movie that decides to only spoof Walk The Line and decides that it's worthy of a 2hour run time.

I can only assume that this film has earned 3 of it's 4 stars as it's a Judd Apatow film. The same as Forgetting Sarah Marshall(?) which was okay, but again was over rated in reviews.

Just been on Rotten Tomatoes and it's got 75% which surprised me.

What didn't, is they show the run time as 3hrs 36mins. It felt like that!!!

I thought it was okay and I liked how it poked fun at popstar biography films.

That's incredible - where did he watch it? It's an interesting person to get your film recommendations from. Winking

I loved it, especially the spoof songs - 'Black Sheep' is my favourite Grinning

The theatrical cut was shorter, it's only the extended version that runs for two hours. People throw the word 'terrible' around a lot. Walk Hard wasn't great, but not terrible. Watch Meet the Spartans - guaranteed to make you reclassify Walk Hard. Meet the Spartans is perhaps the worst film I've ever seen to come out of a mainstream Hollywood studio. Absolutely f***ing appalling.

He came around ours for a few beers, in fairness though he'd recommended Superbad before this one, so I'll let him off with this one.

I was actually defending myself to my mate last night saying that it had got good reviews everywhere, when he was questioning why on earth I'd made him watch it. I mentioned that it seemed to be a bit of snobbery from film critics in that it got good reviews because Judd Apatow was involved and we guessed it's probably as good as that Meet The Spartans which got caned.

I'm sticking with terrible though. We were bored senseless watching the last half hour (we were devastated when we pressed the button and saw 30mins were left). I was going to turn it off but we decided to watch it through. I really wish I hadn't bothered.

How much shorter was it? It seemed like it was about 20/30mins too long (2hours is a long time for a spoof film).

Actually quite surprised people liked it though.

Theatrical cut is 96 mins, so about the right length for that sort of film. Two hours was way too long.

I saw it at the cinema and liked it. I thought the spoofs were bang on, the bits with him tearing all the sinks off the wall had me laughing a lot.

Had you seen Walk The Line before hand? It probably does help you enjoy it more
