It's been on the cards for some time in spite of there being a lot of support from both film buffs and architecture junkies. Honestly, it's a butt-ugly structure, the concrete's dodgy at best and it's a blight on the Gateshead skyline. Better to see the back of it and the movie be the only remembrance of it.
