I didn't really know much about Iron Man until I started seeing stuff about the upcoming film - but now I can't wait to see it.
The bit that gets me is the director, I'd not have expected a superhero film from Jon Favreau - even though he's been in one himself in the past - but by all accounts he's done a great job here.

Competent

Think Bruce wayne/Batman but replace dead parents with drinking problem and a bad heart, and instead of the detective skills & martial arts, you get a guy who can pretty much build anything! Iron Man has never really got the respect its due, and i hope that this film will finally bring the comic alot more interest! What i like most about Tony Stark though is his slightly mis trusting nature, if you read any of civil war comics story you will know what i mean. He's a good guy, but you cant always trust him (a bit like Robert Downey Jr!!)

I am a little shocked that no one has heard of Iron Man? Did no one read comics as a kid?

Dad bought me the Iron Man origins issue back in 1979, while I was in hospital.

So looking forward to this.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you’ve noticed.) You don’t normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

I love Iron Man, he's a great comic book character, so I'm looking forward to this. Also a fan of Favreau, who I'm convinced will do a really good job. Glad to see they are using as much practical effects as possible - a rarity today in big films.
