Just checked this out over at the HTF and they are as flabbergasted as us about it.
No sign of an official press release yet though. I'm monitoring The Digtal bits for it.

I'd heard about the new cut, but couldn't believe that they were doing it. Apparently they've reshot some stuff, using some of the original actors (and Harrison Fords son, I believe).

Ridley Scott seems to have been promising/delaying a special collector's edition of Blade Runner since the invention of DVD. Feels like it anyway.
Still waiting patiently, but will be front of the queue when it finally hits a proper website's pre-order listings! (Not that I have a problem with EzyDVD, but I'd rather be ordering from someone like Play or Amazon, you know) And I want it in region 2.
And for anyone who hasn't seen it, as you said, now is the time! But for Pete's sake try to get the "Director's Cut" (without the annoying Sam Spade style narration)
