I've always found that the most boring of all the books.

I'd have thought Dawn Treader was the obvious choice for sequel. It's the other one everybody knows.

I hope they get a difft director (and writer) this time. I was a bit bored with TLTWATW.

Surely Prince Caspian, as the *next in the series* would be the obvious choice for the sequel....? Confused

How does the chronology of the Narnia books work anyway? I haven't read them for years but if memory serves the usual running order (in my old boxset anyway) is:

1 Magician's Nephew
2 Lion, Witch, Wardrobe
3 Horse & His Boy
4 Prince Caspian
5 Voyage Of The Dawn Treader
6 Silver Chair
7 Last Battle

That's the chronological order, but it appears they're filming in publication order (when/if all seven films are made we can just jumble them up into chronological order ourselves! Happy):

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Horse and His Boy
The Magician's Nephew
The Last Battle

3 Horse & His Boy
4 Prince Caspian
5 Voyage Of The Dawn Treader
6 Silver Chair

is the generaly accepted order the books "should" be read, (cs lewis aparently agreed about this order) But as xfilesgurly says

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Horse and His Boy
The Magician's Nephew
The Last Battle

is the original print order, so it's horses for courses, & tbh it don't really matter, but if you watched the movie/tv series first (as i did) & where not previously aware there where any other books (i'd only heard of TLTW&TW untill a few months ago) then reading the magicians nephew adds some nice touches, especially regarding TLTW&TW (ie, the lampost & certain charactors) so i would read TMN either 1st or directly after TLTW&TW

imo Happy

Am I the only one here who had no idea what the other books were called? I knew about TLTWATW (although Ive never read it) and knew there were other books but I didnt know what they were called or that there were so many!

I think I spent my youth reading too many horror books and not enough childrens books lol
