Converting a CDR drive to DVD?`

Harmless

I've heard that there is a piece of software than can convert my CDR drive on me PC to play DVDs. Is this true, or just another urban myth?

Sounds very dodgy to me. If such software was available why do most new PCs ship with both a CD-R and DVD player?

Two points Vestan:

a) This is HIGHLY unlikely, as a different type of waveband laser is used in DVD's to CD's; and

b) This IS NOT a software question - this post is quite clearly a Hardware Forum post.

Please give more thought to the destination of your threads before you post.
