I guess the (combo?) Blu-ray and HD-DVD drive is the selling point here - Aldi's Medion PCs tend to have the "kitchen sink" thrown in them
You can, of course, get quad core base units for 500-600 quid nowadays (e.g. Mesh Computers and CCL Computers).
I personally would far rather have a quad core processor and an extra or larger hard drive than a dual core processor and a Blu-Ray/HD-DVD drive any day (optical media is on its way out - flash and hard drives are the clear future).
Interesting. As technology progresses, it's just pushed on us as though we need it. eg there are very few apps that truly take advantage of two processors - and almost none that take advantage of 4... There are far more people ho would get use out of the blu-ray/hd-dvd drive than a different processor and the 6750 is a great processor anyway..

Guess they held some back last week, offer again this Sunday, same PC
http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/2867_4445.htm
Again this week!
I'm tempted to go there tomorrow just to see if they do have any!
You can plug the Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive into a PC and use it as a USB drive and that 'only' costs a ton.
