Cheap external storage 250GB USB/Firewire from £15.64

At Dell

This is from hotdealsuk.
Iomega 250 GB USB/Firewire external drives at £23.86 inc VAT and Shipping.

However the pricing is actually £15.64 + £8.23 shipping. If you order over £100 (inc VAT) shipping is free so the drives cost £15.64 each (all inclusive). So buy 8 and you get 2TB for £125!!!

I don't know who manufactures the drive units, just hope its not Maxtor.

[Update] The comments at hotdeals suggest that this is likely to be an oversubscribed pricing error and that orders will be cancelled. However the deal is still available at the website.

Bloody good spot. Ordered one up. Thanks.

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you’ve noticed.) You don’t normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

I hate answering the phone at work - It disturbs my sleep.

Spotted this over at MSE. Have you seen the activity over at HUKD? Shocked It looks as though some people have had 2 e-mails, the first acknowledgement and a second confirmation, looking good Happy

Got the second.

I tried checking the status earlier and the site had a message along the lines of "We can't show the current status....Please contact Customer Service", which I thought looked ominous. However the second email, with anticipated delivery date, gives me hope.

I can't check the current status as dell.com is down! I hope they aren't using Iomega drives!! Tongue

I just got an order confirmation! Happy I can't remember how Dell's system works, does the second email mean they've accepted the order for definite?

Amazon price is apparently $70 ish according to colleagues.

It also comes (at least from Amazon US\if same model) with a copy of Ghost 2003 Disaster recovery suite.

Very handy.
